DAY 1 – The day when your thrilling Trans Siberian Railway Tour begins. We will meet you inside Saint-Petersburg “Pulkovo” Airport with the sign of our ShowmeRussia company and your name on it. We will organize a transfer to your hotel and help you with the check-in. DAY 2 – After breakfast you will meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby and start the sightseeing tour around Saint-Petersburg – the cultural capital of Russia. It will be performed on a private car or minivan, depending on the size of your group. You will be able to see the main landmarks of this romantic city, which was founded in 1703 by Peter the Great. During the tour you will have several photo stops in front of Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, Spilled Blood Church, Aurora Cruiser, the Spit of St. Basil Island, Egyptian Sphynxes, and many more. At the end of the city tour you will visit the Fortress named after Saints Peter and Paul and discover tombs of all Russian Tsars from Peter the Great to Nicholas II in Peter and Paul Cathedral.
DAY 3 – on the next day of your stay in Saint-Petersburg you will enjoy the private guided tour to Peterhof – a small town in the countryside of Saint-Petersburg, which was named “Russian Versailles” after its numerous fountains, gilded sculptures, marble monuments, amazing pavillions and the Grand Palace. You will get back by hydrofoil boat which will be another great Russian adventure for you. After that you will visit one of the largest museums in the world – The State Hermitage Museum and discover the Royal Collection of Art from all over the world. The Hermitage museum consists of 5 structures joined together so you will be able to see not only the highlights of its collection but also some state Rooms of the Winter Palace – the official residence of Russian Tsars.
DAY 4 – In the morning after breakfast we will pick you from the hotel and drive you to the railway station and just 4 hours later you will find yourself in Moscow. It will be a very comfortable trip on the express train called “Sapsan”. In Moscow you will be greeted by local guide and driver who will take you to the hotel, help you with the check-in and organize a sightseeing tour around Moscow for you. During the tour you will stroll along Old Arbat street – the most popular meeting point among locals, full of restaurants, shops, monuments and street art. You will learn the history of Moscow – the capital of Russia, you will explore Moscow Metro System which is called the “Undeground Palace” for it is rich decoration with mosaics, crystal chandeliers, bas-reliefs and sculptures. In the evening, if you are not tired enough, we can organize a Moscow Boat Tour for you.
DAY 5 – On the next day of your stay in Moscow you will also have a walking tour to explore the very heart of Russia – Moscow Kremlin, Kremlin Palace, the Tsar Bell and the Tsar Canon, the Armoury, Lenin Mausoleum, GUM store, the monument to Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky and the Saint Basil’s Cathedral on the Red Square.
DAY 6 – After breakfast in your hotel, your private driver will make a transfer for you to the Railway Station and show you inside the train to Yekaterinburg where you will arrive on the next day of your Trans Siberian Tour in the evening at approximately 8 PM.
DAY 7 – After the comfortable and relaxing train trip you will be met in Yekaterinburg Railway Station at 20:04 and our driver will transfer you to the hotel where after the check in you will have some free time to become oriented with the area nearby.
DAY 8 – Following breakfast, you will meet the local tour guide in your hotel and your sightseeing tour around Yekaterinburg will start. You will discover the main square of the city, the monument to Lenin, 19th century tenants’ houses and modern buildings, the Iset river, the Cathedral on the Blood which stands on the place of Ipatiev House, where the last Royal Family of Russia were murdered. You will also find out why Yekaterinburg is said to be the border between Europe and Asia so don’t forget to take a picture standing in front of the obelisk and the line which divides Europe from Asia. During the tour you will also visit the Ganina Yama Monastery constructed on the place of the pit where the remains of the last Russian Tsar Nicholas II with his family were found in 1998. This special memorial to Romanov family was constructed in 2000 in old Russian style of wooden architecture without using any nails. Please, don’t forget to put on a sheadcover and a long skirt (for ladies) and trousers (for gentlemen) as there are such customs and traditions of Russian Orthodox Churches to cover heads and legs.
DAY 9 – In the morning you will have breakfast in the hotel, then we will organize a transfer for you to the Yekaterinburg railway station where you will find the train to Irkutsk which leaves at 11:52. You will spend nearly two days on the train to Irkutsk, passing Siberian forests, and villages. This is the most picturesque area of Russia!
DAY 10 – You will spend this day on the Trans Siberian train. Total duration of your journey from Yekaterinburg to Irkutsk will be 54 hours. Despite its length, it is a very pleasant journey during which you can meet lots of fellow travelers, learn more about Russians and their character, see other small Russian towns on the way to Irkutsk and admire Russian inimitable nature.
DAY 11 – After your arrival to Irkutsk Railway Station at 20:47, you will be driven to your hotel and after the check-in you will have some free time to admire the surroundings, visit local Russian cafe and enjoy the view of this wonderful town at night.
DAY 12 – The Trans Siberian tour to discover the capital of Siberia now begins. After breakfast in the hotel you will have a 4-hour sightseeing tour around Irkutsk on a private car or minivan. During the tour you will learn the history of Irkutsk, you will enjoy the central part of the city, the Angara River embankment, the monument to Alexander III (under his rule the Trans Siberian Railway was finally constructed), different orthodox and catholic cathedrals and churches. You will also have a stroll along the main street of the city – the Karl Marx Street and admire the main square of the city named after Kirov. Continuing the tour you will visit the Taltsy open-air Museum of wooden architecture on the way to Listvyanka village. Some of the wooden huts, schools, churches represented in the museum were built up in 17th-20th centuries by Siberian peasants. You will also have a lunch stop there in the authentic Russian restaurant and a free time to walk around and visit all the wooden houses inside to see the living conditions, wooden furniture, kitchen utensils and other household goods used by Siberian people. After that you will have a trip to your hotel in Listvyanka village on the shore of Lake Baikal.
DAY 13 – Following breakfast you will be met by your private local guide in the hotel lobby and start your tour around Lake Baikal. You will enjoy the interesting Baikal Limnological Museum where you will discover several aquariums with different creatures which live in Baikal Lake. Of special interest, the Lake is host to the most famous mammal – Baikal Seal. You will also visit the local market and try the local Omul smoked fish. After that your private guide and your driver will take you to the most picturesque area of the Lake Baikal – Cherskogo Mountain Peak or Gora Cherskogo, which is 2,297 ft. This place was named after Ivan Chersky – the Polish-born explorer who created a map of Siberia. From the observation point travelers can see the most beautiful panorama of Lake Baikal and its surroundings.
DAY 14 – In the morning after breakfast you will continue your Trans Siberian Railway Tour and get on the train to Ulan Ude – the capital of the Republic of Buryatia. The train trip will take you about 8 hours or so, and at 17:30 you will meet the driver on the train station who will transfer you to your hotel. After the check-in you will have a free time to explore the city on your own or to visit a cosy Russian cafe.
DAY 15 – On the next day of your stay in Buryat town Ulan-Ude you will meet your local guide and begin the tour to the Buddhist Monastery – Ivolginsky Datsan. In this incredible place you will learn the history of Buddhism in Russia, Russian Buddhists and a unique architectural style of this place. You will definitely enjoy the wooden carvings and statues which decorate the whole complex in a lovely array of colors and mixed cultures. After that you will have a special visit to the real Buryat village (Buryatskaya village), meet there some locals and become acquainted with mysterious Buryat culture.
